Getting To School

The community at BHPS values the importance of Active Travel. we encourage all of our students and families to walk or ride to school where possible. Taking the active option has physical health benefits for all people it reduces the traffic congestion around our school.

It is a requirement that all students in years prep – 3 are accompanied by an adult if riding to school. Year 3 students complete bike ed during the school year and after successfully completing the program are able to ride independently.

We have clear guidelines regarding riding restrictions and rules:

  1. Bikes, scooters and skateboards are not to be ridden in the school grounds during the before and after school periods. All students must walk through the school.
  2. Bikes, Scooters and Skateboards must not be ridden down Golf Links Road until passing Clifford Parade or Thompson Drive.
  3. We ask that students avoid riding down Clifford Parade and minimise their time riding down Jasper Avenue.
  4. Please remember that students are required to helmets on bikes, scooters and skateboards if travelling to an from school.

Please report any dangerous or unsafe travel by our students to the school office.
