Principal’s Bulletin 18/4

To The School Community,

I hope the students and families are excited about the upcoming holiday break.

It has been a busy term for the students and staff and overall I can say with confidence that the students and staff have been wonderful and deserve to be congratulated.

We have had many successes during the year so far but the highlight has definitely been the progress of our Prep students who have been amazing this term. Their ability to learn and adapt to school life has been nothing short of sensational. The beginning of Term 2 brings with it the time for parents to increase the opportunities for their prep children to be more independent especially at drop off times.

The staff have worked alongside their team leaders to revamp the reporting process for 2019. The full suite of reporting tools is listed below.

Cross Country

Congratulations to Mercury on their successful cross-country win this year. More importantly than winning, I would like to congratulate the students for having a go and getting in the spirit of the day. Also to Mrs Ferrari and her band of helpers for putting the event together. First major school event for Mrs Ferrari and a job well done.

Attendance

I will mention attendance in each newsletter and will lead into next term setting a target to keeping our average days absent per student below 3 for the term. The community’s contribution to this is to maximise the days at school by minimising holidays during the term and ensuring students are at school on days like their birthday. Of course, we understand if students are ill or need to be away for family events or ceremonies but all other days aim to be at school.
