Self Belief -Week 2, Term 3 2018

Part of the Victorian Curriculum requires the school to support students in developing their understanding of the respectful relationships curriculum. Gender and Identity strongly connects to the VIA Character Strength of Self-Belief.

This topic is an important component of the Respectful Relationships teaching because research shows that children become aware of gender norms at an early age. As they learn about gender equality, parents and schools play a role in developing positive beliefs and attitudes.

Classroom activities will be used to help the children explore the respectful relationships curriculum enabling them to challenge stereotypes and to learn to value and show respect for diversity and difference.
